Park Sequoia National Park Sequoia National Park is home to the tallest mountain in the Lower 48 and the largest tree on earth. Mount Whitney's granite peak rises 14,505 feet above sea level on the arduous High Sierra trail. General Sherman, a sequoia in the Giant Forest, is the world's most voluminous living tree specimen, standing 275 feet high with a base circumference of over 100 feet. The park also features spectacular waterfalls and more than 200 marble caves.

Timothy S. Good Timothy S. Good, a 26-year National Park Service veteran, is currently the superintendent at Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, a place which commemorates the life, military career, and presidency of our 18th president. Good began his career in Washington, D.C., serving at the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park and Ford’s Theatre National Historic Site. He followed these two assignments with a 14-month detail for the NPS Washington Office Information and Telecommunications Division where he helped develop the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System, a computerized database of 6.3 million soldier records and several thousand unit histories. Good then served on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.; Lincoln Home National Historic Site in Springfield, Illinois; Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Brecksville, Ohio; Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park in Dayton, Ohio; and the Midwest Regional Office in Omaha, Nebraska, before beginning his current assignment in 2009.

Park Dinosaur National Monument This park preserves a quarry rich with paleontological resources as well as expansive surrounding landscapes, including mountain ranges, steep canyons and wild river valleys. The Quarry Exhibit Hall displays more than 1,400 fossils from the late Jurassic period. Five sites on the western side of the park also preserve a collection of petroglyphs and pictographs from the Fremont people who lived in the region a thousand years ago. The Green River meets with its largest tributary, the Yampa River, in the heart of the park, helping to support more than 1,000 native plant and animal species throughout the area.
