The current trails include portions of the original Old Natchez Trace, a traditional Native American footpath also used by European explorers for both transit and trade.

Park Buck Island Reef National Monument This Caribbean park protects a small uninhabited island and the pristine elkhorn coral barrier reef that surrounds it, all about a mile and a half off the coast of St. Croix. Considered one of the finest marine gardens in the Caribbean, the monument protects a pristine underwater environment and habitat for rare and threatened species, including endangered leatherback and hawksbill turtles. Snorkelers can enjoy an interpretive underwater trail, one of only three such trails in the country.

Park Lake Mead National Recreation Area This recreation area provides scenic vistas of Lake Mead and Lake Mohave with more than 700 miles of shoreline and a beautiful reservoir for boaters, swimmers, and anglers to explore. The surrounding desert features nine wilderness areas and isolated backcountry with a fantastic diversity of desert plants and animals and dramatic desert scenery.

Park Prince William Forest Park This 15,000 acres of piedmont forest has 37 miles of trails to hike and 21 miles of scenic roads to drive or bike. As a visitor, you can rent one of the 100+ historic cabins in the park, built in the 1930s by the Civilian Construction Corps.
