• Park El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail El Camino Real de los Tejas will carry you through 300 years of Louisiana and Texas frontier settlement and development on a Spanish colonial "royal road" that originally extended to Mexico City, Mexico.
• Staff John Adornato Deputy Vice President of Regional Operations John joined NPCA in February 2002 in the Sun Coast Region and in 2018 became the Deputy Vice President of Regional Operations out of DC. In this role, he helps manage NPCA’s regional programs, which encompass over 55 staff in eleven regions across the country.

• Daniel Howe Daniel Howe is a writer, consultant and part-time professor in the Landscape Architecture Department in the College of Design at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. His many national park experiences include thru-hiking the 2,193-mile Appalachian Trail and cycling the length of the 469-mile Blue Ridge Parkway. Howe currently serves on the board of directors of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy.

• Park Cumberland Gap National Historical Park This park sits at a natural opening in the Cumberland Mountains that served as one of the earliest gateways to the West for thousands of settlers traveling across the frontier. During the Civil War, Union and Confederate soldiers vied for strategic control of gap, and several forts still exist in the park. Visitors can explore the Hensley Settlement from the early 1900s, a historic community with original, hand-hewn chestnut and oak cabins. Hikers can enjoy underground tours of the park’s impressive caves, as well as more than 85 miles of trails, including routes that lead to unique rock formations and dramatic waterfalls. The four-mile drive to Pinnacle Overlook also offers wonderful views of three states.
